The strategic planning and management of education and training takes place at a county level through the Local Education Authority (LEA) and the Learning Skills Council (LSC). Within this context the Derwentside Education and Training Forum develops local policy to bring together national and county initiatives into a local context. The key cross-cutting challenges for the future are a networked approach to 14-19 provision and full service schooling.

  • Durham LEA Education Development Plan.

  • Durham LEA Special Educational Needs Strategy “All Together Better”.

  • Durham LEA Key Stage 4 Improvement Strategy “Beyond Expectations”.

  • Derwentside College Strategic Plan.

  • Durham Learning and Skills Council 14-19 Strategy.
