- Appointment of a Learning District Manager.
- Map existing learning provision.
- Develop a promotion strategy for learning in Derwentside.
- Liaise with other agencies to investigate needs for future
provision.

- To develop Derwentside Learning District as a recognisable entity.
- To have in place a network of locally accessible learning venues
providing a range of educational opportunities.
- To raise and then meet the learning aspirations of all sections of

| Develop a strategic approach to the provision of learning
opportunities across the District. |
| Action |
- Map existing learning provision and promote debate and decisions
regarding the strategic planning of Adult and Community Learning and
associated dual use arrangements.
- Develop and implement a co-ordinated programme of learning linked to
LSP priorities: Healthy living; Parenting; Basic skills/employability
skills; ICT skills & ICT based learning.
- Develop a programme of summer schools for Y6 pupils and parents in
their future secondary schools.
