- Improve oral health by encouraging visits to dentists, providing
advice on healthy eating, weaning and dental care.

- Promote the health of students and staff of Derwentside College
through a Healthy College model.

different population groups within Derwentside.

- Support the tobacco control agenda.
- Development of an accident prevention strategy.

- Target health promotion interventions with gay and bisexual men.

- From a 1998-2000 baseline, to reduce by at least 10% the gap in life
expectancy between the 20% of areas with the lowest life expectancy at
birth and the population as a whole.
- To achieve a 70% uptake of influenza immunisation in people aged 65
years and over, targeting populations in the 20% of areas with the
lowest life expectancy.
