To increase modern business floorspace availability

- One North East and/or the Sub Regional Partnership for County Durham
will be approached to support direct development at the Tanfield Lea
Industrial Estates and at Greencroft Industrial Park.

- A further 500,000 sq. ft. of new modern business floorspace will
have been created, including a minimum of 300,000 sq. ft. at the
Tanfield Lea Industrial Estates and Greencroft Industrial Park.

| Action |
- Secure resources for the construction of at least two additional
e-business centres on Consett Business Park.
- Examine the potential to introduce broadband infrastructure to
existing sites.

- Two new e-business centres, totalling at least 25,000 sq. ft. will
have been constructed.
- Infrastructure or services will be in place to be able to deliver
broadband connectivity to any business in Derwentside.

| Action |
- A feasibility study on disposing of some of the older local
authority industrial property to support refurbishment or further
development of new stock.
- We will also examine the feasibility of refurbishing other stock
with potential public and private sector partners e.g.
acquisition/re-use of non-business stock to convert for modern business
use.
