To increase the number of value adding business start ups in Derwentside

- A range of projects and services will have been developed and
delivered
in partnership with the University of Durham.

| Enhancing targeted marketing. |
| Action |
- Production of a new marking plan focusing on identifying, developing
and supporting home-based e-entrepreneurs, encouraging existing
home-based entrepreneurs and potential ones from within the District and
the sub region to establish/grow value-adding business.

- A minimum of 200 investment enquiries per annum.
- 150 new jobs and at least 50 value-adding new businesses with growth
potential will be created-at least 25 of these will be e-businesses.

- Establishment of an enhanced business start-up service, underpinned
by
Business Link to provide training, intensive one to one counselling for
business planning and website design.
- Formation of a working group to develop a refocused incentive
package
to encourage enterprise and innovation.
