Young People need support to involve, enable and sustain them, in issues that affect them.
 

Aim:

Involving young people in local decision making.


Objective:
Ensure young people have appropriate opportunities to be part of local decision making processes.
Action
  • Continue the development and implementation of the Special Project to Implement Children’s’ Elections (SPICE) project.
  • Support and expand the Derwentside Youth Forum.

  • Derwentside Youth Forum formally represented on the LSP.
  • All Community Partnerships will have a mechanism for involving young people.
  • Increase in % of young people who feel they can influence decisions in their area.
  • Young people will have a say in how resources are utilised to engage with them.
  • “Youth in Derwentside” Newsletter produced by young people twice a year.
  • Increase of 18-24 year olds voting in District and National elections.
  • Young people are involved in all local decision making structures both at a neighbourhood and District level.
  • Increase in resources allocated to engage young people in Derwentside.
